Interview With New Ecentral Intern

Interview With New Ecentral Intern

As of this month, ACCJ Ecentral has a new intern! Arisa, a sophomore at Tama University, is a shining example of where a good dose of gumption can get you. This week we sat down and interviewed Arisa as to why she choose the “unusual path” of interning during the summer instead of taking the usual break…

Ecentral: First question…how is it going?

Arisa K: Well because I am still a student, I was really nervous because this is my first “real” job. After watching how everyone at Ecentral really enjoys their work, however, my feelings & image of working in a company has changed.

EC: How did you find this internship?

AK: The internship was on a list of internships at my school, so I chose it.

EC:  Why did you choose Ecentral?

AK:  I was really interested in Ecentral because the official language of communication within the company is English and it is in the media/advertising industry.

EC: How often do you work a week?

AK: Three days a week.

EC: What are your job responsibilities?

AK: I assist the sales team with promotion.

EC: Who do you work with?

AK: I work with the sales team. This week, I visited clients with my immediate supervisor and was impressed by the fact that even though clients asked very tough questions, she was able to reply in a calm and polite manner – amazing!

EC: How long will your internship last?

AK: My internship is for two months during the summer break. Once completed, I’ll return to my studies at school.

EC: How important is English?

AK: Because everyone speaks English here, I feel it is very important. Personally, I am actually planning to head overseas as an exchange student next year during September.

EC: How do you plan to use the experience gained through your internship?

AK: So far, the experience has taught me what to look for in a company when I begin my job search after graduation. I want a job I really enjoy – a worthwhile career I feel happy about.

EC: Good luck with the rest of your internship!

AK: Thank you!
